Magician From Malta Performs At The Largest Magic Convention In The World

The Gathering of Illusionists & Magicians

For those who’ve never whispered an incantation or pulled a rabbit out of a hat, the idea might seem as foreign as flying on a broomstick. But just like any other group passionate about their craft, magicians have their grand meet-up too. Every February, the enchanting town of Blackpool, UK, transforms into a hub of mystique and wonder for the world’s grandest magic convention – The Blackpool Magic Convention, a tradition that’s been dazzling attendees for over 71 years. Imagine this: over 5,000 magicians, illusionists and mentalists from every corner of the globe congregating to share their love and secrets of the trade.

Star-Studded Line-Up

Each year, the convention rolls out the red carpet for the crème de la crème of the magic world, offering lectures, workshops, and awe-inspiring shows. Names that even the most casual fans of magic would recognize – like Uri Geller, Britain’s Got Talent’s Richard Jones, the mesmerizing Xavier Mortimer of Instagram and Las Vegas fame, the legendary Lance Burton, and Steven Frayne, better known as Dynamo – grace the event. And let’s not forget the wizards behind the curtain who conjure illusions for the likes of David Copperfield and David Blaine.

This year’s lineup includes Vegas’ headline magician Mac King, the hilarious Broadway Comedy Magician Harrison Greenbaum, Marvin Berglas of “Marvins Magic”, and many others. Among these titans of trickery, Malta’s own Gwilym Bugeja of OMG Magic received the honour to dazzle and amaze, proudly representing his homeland.

A Magical Showcase

Spanning three days and featuring over 70 magical happenings, the convention is a whirlwind of enchantment. Gwilym Bugeja will take the stage in “The Bear Pit”, a showcase where the UK’s top magicians perform the acts that catapulted them to success. This year introduces a twist: of the six magicians, five hail from the UK, and for the first time ever, one magician – our very own Gwilym – brings a touch of Maltese magic to the lineup.

The Enchanting Ensemble

On Saturday, 17th of February, Gwilym will join these magnificent performers, ready to unveil his magical wonders to an eager audience.

Magic Awaits

As Gwilym prepares to share his craft, we’re reminded that magic isn’t just about the tricks or the illusions. It’s about the stories, the connections, and the shared sense of wonder. So, here’s to Gwilym Bugeja, Malta’s magical ambassador, ready to weave his spells in Blackpool.
